Maintaining originality while rebuilding the structure of Mercedes 450SL seats.

The original seat covers really didn't look bad but the padding underneath had gotten crumbly due to the California heat.
We retained these great covers and rebuilt everything underneath.

This is a shot of the new linen backing after the pleat pockets were stitched.

These are the seat pressure strips (resting on top of an old pad) for the seatbelt warning buzzer - we maintained everything as per factory specification.

The new seat pads or forms (this is a molded rubberized vegetable fiber sometimes called "horsehair").

These shots shows the stitching of the pleats.

The original seat covers are back on with new pads and backing.
