This vary late production 280SL left the factory on January 29, 1971. It has placed as high as 1st in class in MBCA shows.

I've never seen this before. This image is of the trunk
weather seal. I shot it upside down and had to cover the chrome trunk lock
due to the flash. The date stamp is clearly visible and reads 29 DEC 1970.
This car was built in Dec. of '70 so it makes sense. Only garage kept cars
with very little use have any chance of still retaining this original part after
35 years.
