These are the undercarriage shots of this very original 1970 280SL. When we cleaned the floor pan most of the original 35 year old signal red paint gave up its adhesion. The beige remaining is the factory undercoat. You will notice at the edges some texture with brush marks, this is factory seam sealer. There are also some brown patches, this is a factory wax-like material that was sprayed on as well. Also of note is a brand new stainless steel exhaust system front to back. As these photos attest, this is a never rusted car.
